Coach Stiegler played collegiate baseball at the University of
Central Missouri.  He contributed to the growth of that prominent
Division II program as the Mules' conference game / tournament
starting pitcher and the team's designated hitter.

Beginning in 1989, Coach Stiegler managed the Ralston Purina
and Denny's Baseball Clubs in the Metro Collegians Instructional
Baseball League for the next 7 years.  His team's won five St.
Louis City Championships in a row from 1991 - 1995, two AABC
Missouri State Championships, and one NABF regional
championship going on to finish 5th in the NABF Collegiate
Summer League World Series in Cincinnati, Ohio.

All players that played for Coach Stiegler for two years or more
graduated from College, but
one...  and that one was fortunate
enough to marry a successful attorney.  Fast forward to today and
those players are now successful businessmen, baseball
coaches, teachers, or leaders in their chosen field.

12 Players from that 7 year time-frame were either drafted by, or
free agent contract signees of, professional baseball clubs.  Two
of those players reached the Major Leagues  Both of those players
have played in the Major League Baseball Playoff series, with one
obtaining a World Series Championship ring.

Coach Stiegler's collegiate coaching record is 170-67, equating to
a .717 winning percentage.

His foray into youth baseball began with the Texas Royals, now
the Dallas Royals, in 2004.  Coach Stiegler has led the Royals to
several league and tournament championships, including a
USSSA 11U AAA World Championship in 2009.  Ironically, that
World Series was held in the locale where he played youth
baseball (Kansas City, Missouri).  In 2010, the 12U Dallas Royals
were ranked as high as 23rd in the Nation by
travelballselect.com,
at the Major level (the highest classification possible) and travelled
to play some of the best teams in the country.

In Spring 2010, Stiegler led the Royals:
  • To qualify for and play in the USSSA Disney / ESPN Wide
World of Sports Elite 32 Major World Series in Orlando FL
  • To defeat several top 25 Nationally Ranked teams, including
    two in the top 10
  • To Finished in the Final Four in 4 out of 5 USSSA Super NIT
tournament appearances with their Elite Qualifying
Championship tournament win coming in the challenging
"double berth" Kansas City Memorial Day Super NIT
  • To come up just short in the last inning at Disney to the AAU
National Champions and eventual NYBC National
    Champions, Lamorinda (CA) Monarchs, 3-2.

In Fall 2010, Stiegler led the Royals:
  • To continue that Spring 2010 momentum into the Fall,
playing to a 15-3-1 record, while playing up in a 14U DH
League, one 13U tournament, and playing up again in one
    14U 60/90 tournament
  • To defeat the nationally recognized Dallas Patriots and the
nationally recognized D-BAT Mustangs best teams in their
    age division this Fall.

The fun part of the story is that this team was developed the old
fashioned way by developing a group of hard working boys to be
the "best they can be".  Coach Stiegler said "It is really important
for us to be able to compete nationally at this time.  13U is when
college and professional scouts begin their search for players.  I
am really excited about our upcoming 13U season and the
exposure our boys will begin to get.  In the end, this is what we are
all about at the Dallas Royals Baseball Club."

Coach Stiegler was also a ballboy and batboy for the Kansas City
Royals from 1973 - 1983.  He became a student of the game early
on with the following baseball greats as his teachers:   Whitey
Herzog, Dick Howser, Charley Lau, George Brett, Hal McRae,
Frank White, Amos Otis, Harmon Killebrew, Gaylord Perry, David
Cone, his Dad, and many more...
